A Mathematics Night's Dream
Closing the Math Month May, the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Magdeburg organizes its second math-night („2. Magdeburger Mathe-Nachts-Traum“ – second Magdeburgian mathematics night's dream) on May 31, 2010 from 17.30 h until 23.00 h.
The program will include mathematics with the "Simpsons", a presentation and discussion „Darf ich Zahlen!“ with Prof. Dr. Günter M. Ziegler (TU Berlin) as well as a math model competition, mathematical experiments of the math-mobile, and swing, blues and jazz with the University Bigband.
M³ - MatheMonatMai
The MatheMonatMai (German for Math Month May) is the German equivalent of the American Math Awareness Month. The MatheMonatMai is a project by the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft, the Deutsche Mathematiker-Vereinigung (DMV) and the initiative "THINK.ING". This year, the main focus of the activites concentrates on elemetary and high school students.
